- “We hope the next generation of scholars continues the spirit of academic challenge and achievement,” says Chairman Suh

The Suh Byongyoon Academic Awards 2025, established by LOGISALL Group Chairman Byongyoon Suh to recognize outstanding talent in the logistics field, were presented on November 3 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Seoul.

The Suh Byongyoon Academic Awards were created to discover and encourage scholars who have made exceptional contributions to logistics research and academic development. The awards are presented annually during the Fall Conference of the Korea Logistics Society.

This year, after a comprehensive evaluation of research achievements, academic contributions, and community impact, Professor Dae-Ki Kim of Korea University was selected as the recipient of the Suh Byongyoon Academic Grand Prize, while Professor Pyung-Soo Lee of Kyonggi University received the Suh Byongyoon Young Scholar Award. The honorees were awarded a plaque and prize money of KRW 10 million and KRW 5 million, respectively.

Starting this year, Chairman Suh also personally presented awards for the Undergraduate Research Paper Competition, held as part of the conference. The competition recognizes creative and practical research achievements by undergraduate students in logistics and supply chain management, highlighting emerging academic talent. Multiple teams were honored, receiving awards ranging from the Grand Prize to Honorable Mentions.

Chairman Suh stated, “In addition to continuing the Suh Byongyoon Academic Awards, it was especially meaningful to recognize younger scholars through the undergraduate competition this year. I hope this event inspires future generations to pursue academic excellence and innovation in logistics.”

On the same day, the 33rd Logistics Day Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Integrated Logistics Association, was also held at the venue. The first session featured the Korea Logistics Awards honoring individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the logistics industry, followed by an industry seminar discussing future logistics technologies and strategies to respond to industrial transformation.
